Bibi,

I haven 't tried suspending to ram. I suppose the problem is that the lirc_dev and lirc_atiusb modules aren't responding when your system is in suspended mode, whereas the mouse usb module is.
I'd search for something like 'active modules during suspend in linux' or something.

Good luck!

You should change your wording as it is misleading. You did not "solve" anything. You are just bypassing the limitation of SSL by having it redirect to port 444.
Traffic will still be sent to port 80 first on vhost 2, the rewrite rule will catch it and then send it on to port 444.

I'm thinking this could be potentially dangerous at some point.

From a fresh Jaunty install, I needed to add a "Files" section in xorg.conf, because it installs the modules into /usr/local:
Section "Files"
        ModulePath      "/usr/local/lib/xorg/modules"
        ModulePath      "/usr/lib/xorg/modules"
EndSection

Hi Guido,
After posting to you I realised the problem was, as you suggest, the .lircrc file. I now have some of the keys working with MythTV and just need to work out the full mapping and all will be complete.
Thanks again for you help on this, very useful.

Hello Tobiz,

I suppose you have a valid .lircrc file for Mythbuntu? I'm not using Mythbuntu, but I've heard several people having trouble set-up this file for Mythbuntu. I think this should work: (Included in your ~/.lircrc)

begin
  prog = mythtv
  button = Up
  config = Up
  repeat = 0
end

Just for the "Up" button of course.

Hi Guido,
I've been trying for too long to get my unbranded UR86E RF remote to work with Mythbuntu 8.10 without success until today. Using your configs as above I can now get irw to actually return the correct codes - briliant! But it still won't control Mythbuntu; what am I missing?

Great work

Ian,

Personally, I'd use "irexec" for that. 'This program lets you execute arbitrary commands on an IR signal decoded by lircd, the LIRC daemon'. Well, on an X10 RF signal, in our case. You can use the "irw" program to monitor what kind of signal is sent bij your sending X10 device.

More info can be found at: http://www.lirc.org/html/irexec.html

Good luck!
